VIP Recognition

Core Functionality: Proactive VIP Recognition

ShiningBot VIP Recognition is a sophisticated system designed to proactively identify and acknowledge your most valued customers across your entire network of branches.

Objective: To enhance the VIP customer experience by ensuring immediate, personalised service upon their physical arrival.

Mechanism: The system alerts the designated branch manager (or relevant staff member) before the VIP customer officially checks in or logs into any service at the branch.

Seamless Automatic Detection (Pre-Login)

The most advanced feature of ShiningBot relies on robust device identification to recognise a returning VIP customer immediately upon their entry into a branch's vicinity.

Algorithm: ShiningBot employs proprietary Device Identification algorithms that analyse and recognise a customer's registered device (e.g., smartphone) based on network parameters.

Seamless Requirement: To enable this instantaneous, pre-login detection across all locations, all branches must use the same brand of wireless access points* (APs). This consistency ensures the network fingerprinting data collected by the Device Identification algorithms is standardised and reliable across the entire enterprise.

Alternative Detection Method (Post-Registration)

If maintaining a single brand of wireless access points across all branches is not feasible, ShiningBot offers a reliable secondary method for VIP recognition, though it occurs later in the customer journey.

Scenario: This method is activated when branches use different brands of wireless access points.

Mechanism: The VIP status is recognised post-registration. The system links the device identification information to the customer's profile only after they have successfully registered/logged into ShiningBot using their unique identifier, specifically the mobile number used for registration.

Summary of Detection Methods

Detection Method
Speed of Recognition
Requirement for Implementation
Core Mechanism
Seamless/Automatic Before
login/check-in
All branches must use the same brand of wireless access points. Proprietary Device Identification algorithms.
Alternative After
registration/login
Branches can use different brands of wireless access points. Linking device data to the registered mobile number.

*As per the new security policy implemented in the access points and devices to suppress the device identification, Access Points randomise the MAC address of the device connecting to it. While the MAC address randomisation algorithm follows certain principle to generate the MAC address, it varies from brand to brand. If you use different brand, the access points will generate different MAC address for the same client device. It will indirectly prevent the ShiningBot from automatic device detection. Even though, ShiningBot uses multiple algorithms, it will delay the process. Hence single brand access points are recommended.
